Colonoscopy

A Colonoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic test that is used to detect abnormalities in the colon and rectum. When perform a colonoscopy, a long flexible tube with a video camera attachment is inserted into the rectum which allows your physician to examine the inside of the colon. Besides examining the area, the scope can also be used to remove any abnormal tissue. If necessary, you doctor may even take biopsy samples during a colonoscopy as well. Colonoscopies are generally performed to explore possible causes for chronic constipation, diarrhea, rectal bleeding, or abdominal pain. The procedure may also be done to screen for colon cancer, either as a preventative measure or if a patient is showing symptoms, as well as look for polyps to reduce the risk of cancer. Prior to the procedure, your doctor may recommend a special diet and taking a laxative to prepare yourself for the colonoscopy.

If you require an emergency C-Section, there will still be charged for Anesthesia, even if you have already paid for an epidural in labor, as these are two separate Anesthetics.

The Package does not include Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) charges for the baby, any extra resuscitation required for the baby, or extra tests that may need to be performed.

If the husband or a relative stays overnight in the patient’s room, there is a charge of R900 per overnight stay and extra charges for any meals ordered.
PLEASE NOTE

If you deliver before 11:00 p.m., that is included as the first night.

In the unfortunate circumstances where the Pediatrician has to perform any resuscitation of the baby at delivery, there will be an extra charge.

There will be an extra charge if the Pediatrician attends the delivery.

The routine Post Partum Screen for the newborn only includes screening for Phenylketonuria, Thyroid Disease, and Galactosemia.

The Self Pay Patient is required to pay the entire Package price in advance to the Clinic at the time of signing up.

Pre-authorization from the insurance company/TPA and corporate is required for the package.
